Our second home, Paros, boasts a number of wineries producing wines from a range of Greek grape varieties such as Monemvasia and Malagouzia (which is similar in taste to a chardonnay).
The leading winery is Moraitis (www.moraitiswines.gr) located in Naoussa which was established in 1910. Moraitis have a lovely cellar door experience where you can taste a wide variety of Greek wines while sitting in the courtyard enjoying a platter and feeling the sea breeze.
No visit to Paros is complete without a visit to the beautiful fishing village of Naoussa at the north of the island with its Venetian Fort protecting the harbour, that dates back to the 14th century. Whilst in Naoussa, there are numerous wonderful restaurants, cafes and bars where you can taste a range of Greek wines that are highly recommended, however, for those with a special interest in wine then a booking at Yemeni Wine Restaurant is a must. Centrally located in the walking streets of the old town provide authentic Greek fare and the wine list has been hand written. A lovely authentic Greek hospitality experience.
