Great wines start in the vineyard

Our vineyard is in Main Ridge in the picturesque Mornington Peninsula. The vineyard is on a steep north-west facing block with Main Creek running along the bottom of the vineyard.
Our vineyard has red clay soil across hilly terrain, providing ideal drainage. Main Creek, which flows into the sea at Cape Schanck, brings balance to our ecosystem with a wide range of native plants and trees.
We are a small boutique winemaker growing chardonnay and pinot noir grapes. The chardonnay is a Dijon 95 clone, whilst the pinot noir is a Pommard D4V2 clone.
The D4V2 clone is known for producing structured, powerful and earthy wines. It produces smaller bunches and has lower yields than many other pinot noir clones.
The 95 clone is known for producing full-bodied, intensely flavoured wines with good structure and balanced acidity, often exhibiting citrus and floral notes.
We have 0.6 acres planted to chardonnay and 1 acre planted to pinot noir, and do not expect to produce more than 1,000 bottles of either chardonnay or pinot noir in any year.
The vineyard is mainly worked by hand with hand pruning and all grapes are hand-picked.
